Brooklyn's Report Card

Brooklyn brought home her report card this week, and she is doing soo well! She loves being in 3rd grade. It has been her most challenging year so far. I remember it the same way though, 3rd grade you start using the big kid playground (although she did last year because she was in a 2nd/3rd grade class) but still big transitions and also it was the year that I had to start trying to pay attention and have to learn, I could no longer skate by on my good looks...hahaha!
I hope that she is learning better study habits then I had! She has such a complex mind and complex thought process that she could really do great things with it!
Any way.....back to her great report card success!
She got 18 4's, which is an A, it means that she exceeds the national standard expectation. And 5 3's which means she meets the national standard expectation. I am soo proud of her. Last quarter the teacher wrote that she was too social and needed to let other kids finish their work, once Brooklyn gets the concept and finishes her work she would be a distraction to the other kids who are trying to still work. This quarter the teacher wrote that "Brooklyn's behavior had improved drastically. Brooklyn is well liked and a pleasure to have in class. Brooklyn accepts responsibility. She is a very hard worker staying in at recess to do school work to stay ahead. She excels in math and reading."
What an over achiever! We are very proud of her.
They do a math test and reading test before ever quarter ends, the tests are rather subjective I would say, but she has made big improvements already. The first quarter her reading test said that she was at a 4.3 reading level, which is interpreted as 4th grade 3rd month. Her score this quarter was 4.9, so 4th grade 9th month. She went up 6 months. She is in the 90th percentile of students tested nationally.
Her math is even more spectacular! Beginning of the year she tested at 3.2 which is 3rd grade 2nd month, which was still good. This quarter she tested at 5.6! 5th grade 6th month!!!! That is 2.4 years of growth in just one quarter! She is 96th percentile of students tested nationally!
Fantastic!! I hope that she keeps it up!

Way to go Brooklyn! Keep up the good work. Those teachers have been trying to control us social girls for a long, long time. Don't they know school is for socializing????
